Día de la Oración 2008

On November 20th we met to commemorate the day of Prayer and Action for Children. Gathered in the Anglican Church, Saint John Evangelista, boys and girls of different faiths were able to unite and raise our prayers to God. We united to pray for the eradication of violence against boys and girls, to demand a more just and equitable world, a world of peace, where there is less hunger, less poverty, where human rights are really fulfilled, and the destruction of nature is stopped. In addition to praying, we showed the exposition “WHAT ARE HUMAN RIGHTS TO ME” created with children from different public and religious schools.

How did WE DO IT?

After an exposition on human rights, the activity of religious and popular singing began. The children sang their hearts out, thrilled to be together again, and through this event, to be connected to all of the children in the world.

Representatives of the Religions for Peace also joined in to the commemoration and prayers.
There was a theatrical presentation (“TIS TIS, TIS TAS- EN QUE MUNDO ESTÁS”(IN WHICH WORLD ARE YOU) the play is fun and calls upon us to reflect on the care and protection of the environment and pollution.
Finally we invited all to connect and begin our prayers to God, to pray for children and peace in the world. Each representative of the religious expressions present read a prayer and holy texts from each religion. The Emmanuel Baptist community thrilled us with gospel singing.
