The National Commission of External Affairs, organized and carried out the activity “Day of Prayer for the Children”, with the assistance of 25 children and 35 young people and adults from the Catholic and Mormon Churches and the Bahá'í faith, on Sunday November 23, 2008, in the auditorium next to the Bahá’í Temple.
The event began with a period of prayer in the Temple, at 10:00 AM, followed by a program presented by the children in the auditorium.
The following program took place in the auditorium:
“The child should be fully prepared for an independent life in society and be educated in the spirit of the ideals proclaimed in the Charter of the United Nations, and especially, in a spirit of peace, dignity, tolerance, equality and solidarity”

A group of 12 children recited the oration:
Oh bounteous Lord! These beautiful children are a work of the ocean of your power and the marvelous signs of Your Greatness. Oh God! Protect these children, help them bountifully to be educated and train them to serve the world of humanity. Oh God! These children are pearls, let them be nourished by the shelter of your lo
ving kindness. You are Generous one that is most beloved”.

Closing Prayer
All of the presentations were done by children between the ages of 9 and 13, the coordination was done by two 14 year old girls.
As well as the presentations, there was an exposition of handicrafts, made by children between 8 and 11 years of age, consisting in little books of virtues, 3 dimensional handicrafts, posters, bookmarks with messages of peace and Children’s Rights.
